Taylor Klassen, BA (he/him/his) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Labour Studies and has worked at Hamilton Health Sciences for the last four years. When Taylor joined HHS, he brought with him with a combined 10+ years of frontline healthcare and progressive leadership experience. Taylor first entered the organization via the ICU at the Juravinski Hospital, supported the opening of the COVID-19 Assessment Center at the West End Clinic, and then moved to a role in Nursing Resource Team scheduling across the organization. In 2021, he landed at the McMaster campus in a role supporting the Directors of Women’s & Newborn Health and Child & Youth Acute Care, which began his interest in quality improvement and patient safety work. He transitioned from a history of informal leadership to formal leadership in early 2022, and began his role as Clinical Coordinator within Pediatric Ambulatory Services, which allowed him to take a more active role in championing patient safety at MCH! Beginning October 2023, Taylor moved into the role of Interim Clinical Leader in order to continue to support day-to-day Ambulatory operations, including leadership and oversight of the Extended Hour Clinic initiative. In March 2024, Taylor was successful to the permanent Clinical Leader role and continues to support a team of ~232 (and growing) staff across three outpatient Pediatric medicine & surgical portfolios. Taylor's passions include promoting health equity, empowering staff to find meaning in their work and finding professional development opportunities. In his off time, Taylor collects vintage Barbie dolls with his husband, Mark, and they enjoy spending all their free time with their 2 year old rescue pup, Praline.
