Dr. McLaughlin is a hospitalist pediatrician and medical director of the Pediatric IV Outpatient Therapy (PIVOT) program. He completed his medical and pediatrics training at the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children, and a health policy masters degree at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Boston.
Dr. McLaughlin's work focuses on the impact of health systems on child health. He is focused on developing innovative systems that allow children to receive care at home or in their community, and has recently developed the PIVOT program to support children across the province to receive IV antibiotics at home. He also is working on several scholarly and policy projects to improve access to medications for children across Canada.
When he is not working, Dr. McLaughlin enjoys everything the west coast has to offer - skiing in the winter, swimming or sailing in the summer, and hiking year-round with his 2 year-old.
