Occupational Therapist, Missing Middle Program
BC Children's Hospital
Sarah Patrick is an Occupational Therapist from the BC Children’s Hospital Missing Middle Program. Her team is working to improve the service experience of young people (16-24) and their families accessing mental health and substance use services in BC. In her consultation role, some of her focuses have included supporting transitions to adult care, increasing clinician skills in DBT and motivational interviewing, promoting trauma and attachment-informed practice, and educating clinicians on youth-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and family-centred care practices. Sarah holds a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia, where she also pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Health and Society. Sarah has practiced OT across the public and private sectors and worked in youth mental health in both Canada and New Zealand. She has also supported early child development research and worked in access and inclusion roles supporting individuals with neurodiversity and cognitive and physical disabilities. In her spare time, she loves exploring BC’s backyard by rock climbing, backcountry skiing, surfing and trail running.
