Undergraduate Research Student
McMaster University
Jinnie Yang is an undergraduate student studying Health Sciences at McMaster University, assisting in research alongside her supervisor, Dr. Christine Wekerle. She began her research journey in her second year of university, working with a team researching Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Jinnie then transitioned to working with Dr. Wekerle, where she discovered child health research, particularly on the topics of online child sexual exploitation. She immediately developed an interest in this area given her passion for engaging with youth through experiences like volutneering at summer camps and teaching swimming lessons for children with disabilities. Jinnie is eager to continue pursuing her research through her thesis, which will continue to explore pressing issues such as child sexual exploitation.
