Chantelle Shaver, HBSc, is a Clinical Leader with the Autism Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Throughout her career, she has supported autistic children, youth and their families in various roles. Having started her career with at-risk teenagers, she soon learned about autism and the challenges families’ experience. She quickly learned that there is not a model that can support all families. Each family experiences different needs for their child or youth. In her current role as Clinical Leader, she supports staff to make adaptations to processes and services that support the family. Being able to support service navigation and tailor the delivery of this information to the individual family was the motivation behind this pilot.
