Dr. Gurpreet (Preety) Salh (pronouns she/her) is a Developmental Pediatrician and current Medical Director for the Complex Developmental and Behavioural Conditions (CDBC) Program based out of Sunny Hill Health Centre/BC Children's Hospital. Dr. Salh completed her medical school at the University of British Columbia (UBC) - Island Medical Program, residency at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, and Developmental Pediatrics Fellowship at UBC. Dr. Salh idenitifies as a cis-gendered woman and second generation settler of Punjabi-Sikh descent. Her academic work is centred around examining developmental disabilities through an intersectional, anti-racist/anti-oppressive lens. Her work addresses how social & structural determinants of health influence diagnostic assessments and aims to ensure that children with developmental disabilities and their families receive access to equitable, culturally safe, and compassionate care.
