Dr. Nicholas is Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Partnerships in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary, and a Fellow in the Canadian Academic of Health Sciences. He has a strong research focus on psychosocial outcome and intervention research related to children, youth and families affected by chronic illness and disability. Dr. Nicholas brings a clinical background in social work in health care, and expertise in qualitative and mixed method research approaches. He has published over 200 articles which include studies specific to pediatric health care and disability, and has presented extensively in Canada and internationally.
